Tooth whitening

Teeth can become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs (your regular consumption) and tobacco. “Tooth Whitening”, a common process of discoloration by removing stains and modifying your teeth colour through a bleaching process.
After cleaning and polishing the teeth, the dentist will put a gel on your gums to protect the soft tissue. They will then apply the whitening product to your teeth. The “active ingredient” in the product is usually hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. As the active ingredient is broaden down, oxygen gets into the enamel on the teeth and the tooth colour is made lighter.

After the treatment some people experience no pain or sensitivity with their teeth for a short time.  The result may be 6-7 shades whiter teeth than the originals.

Dental veneers

01Veneers are an instant rejuvenation for the cosmetic appearance of teeth.

Veneers are porcelain wafers that are laboratory fabricated and are bonded onto the tooth. They are highly esthetic and lifelike. They are designed to correct colors, sizes, shapes, spaces and alignments of teeth.

Veneers can be used individually on only one tooth, many teeth, or can be used to enhance an entire smile.

Veneers can be made from porcelain or from resin composite materials. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than resin veneers and better mimic the light reflecting properties of natural teeth.

02The procedure:

The tooth is very mildly filed back across the front surface, creating space for a wafer thin veneer. After the veneer has been created, it is bonded to the tooth surface permanently.
